‘Life has become a state of sensory overload’

‘Life has become a state of sensory overload’ — Joseph Curiale

A couple of months ago I made the decision to switch from analog paint to pixels for my commercial work. The main reason for this switch had everything to do with that pesky virus that is floating around these days.

Some of you know already that I’m very skeptical about digital media. Not having the ability to undo your mistakes and/or working in close detail forces you to focus on parts that actually matter and make up a good image. At least that is my opinion.
For above said reasons I needed to build in a couple of limitations. First one is using as little layers as possible and -preferably- not using Photoshop’s blend modes. My digital work should not look any different than my analog work.

As a practice I used an image I painted years ago. I liked the idea but hated how I painted it. The result pleases me and convinces me that I am on the right track.
